Smoke Free Homes
Protect your family from tobacco smoke
Smoke Free Hampshire & IOW, NHS Hampshire and Rushmoor BC have joined together to set up a Smoke Free Homes scheme for Rushmoor.
We are asking people to help make Rushmoor smoke free, by taking our Smokefree Homes pledge. By signing up you are agreeing to protect children and other people, by not smoking in your house or car. If you smoke, you’re pledging to smoke outside.
Why make my home smoke free?
- Your children will be healthier
- Your friends and family will be free from tobacco irritation
- Your home will be cleaner
- Your home will smell nicer
- Your pets will be healthier
- You can be proud to be smoke free
Tobacco smoke contains 4000 chemicals. In the home, secondhand smoke can cause health problems, especially in children:
- Asthma and chest infections
- Behaviour and learning difficulties
- Cot death
- Coughing and wheezing
- Middle ear infections
Pledge to make your home smoke free on the Rushmoor Borough Council website.
If you register on line to make your home smokefree, you will receive a Smoke Free Homes pack.
