Stubbed out cigarette15% of 15 year olds regularly smoke and many will continue to be lifelong smokers.  Rates of smoking amongst young 11-15 year olds has been reducing, partly due to a range of tobacco control initiatives:

On 1st October 2007, the law changed, making it illegal to sell tobacco (even from a vending machine) to anyone under the age of 18 (previously this was 16). The maximum fine is £2500.
