British Heart Foundation
The aim of the British Heart Foundation is to play a leading role in the fight against heart
disease so that it is no longer a major cause of disability and premature death. Smoking causes a
fifth of all coronary heart disease in the UK and takes the lives of 40,000 people each year from
heart and circulatory disease. BHF produces a variety of materials about smoking including an
information leaflet called 'Smoking and Your Heart'.
