Smoking and Young People E-learning Course

Smoke Free Hampshire and Isle of Wight has developed an internet-based course to enable people working with children and young people, their parents and carers, to increase knowledge and awareness around smoking and young people.

The e-learning course comprises three modules, allowing people to study at their own pace.  Each module is separate and has its own learning outcomes.

The course supports individuals to increase knowledge, explore attitudes, raise awareness and to identify and respond to needs.  These modules have been developed for front line staff working with young people in Hampshire from Children’s Services, Education, Health, Community and Voluntary Sector, Youth Offending Team, staff within social inclusion projects and foster carers.   Although the modules have been designed for people working with children and young people, there will also be relevant learning for people working with adults.

For staff working for Hampshire County Council, this course has been designed as an introduction to the Tier 1 training course on Raising the Issue around Smoking with Young People.  For more information on this course, please contact the Children’s Services Training Lead (Drugs and Alcohol).
