About Smoke Free Hampshire & Isle of Wight
Who are we?
We are the tobacco control alliance for Hampshire and the Isle of Wight and represent NHS Trusts, Local Authorities and the Armed Forces. We are funded by local Primary Care Trusts and receive grants from the Department of Health for tobacco control activity.
Our Aims
Bringing together agencies and communities to adopt a seamless approach to tobacco control, by:
- Sharing best practice, networking activity and encouraging joint working
- Simplifying links between agencies and organisations
- Providing a link with national activity on smoking
- Directing funding for smoking prevention activity
The Alliance also works closely with Education and the Healthy Schools Partnerhip, Children's Services Departments, Youth Services and Community Groups.
